Naif M Alzahrani, Mishari Abdullah Alajery, Fahad Mohammed Alyousef.

Abstract

Myasthenia gravis (MG) is an autoimmune disease that affects the postsynaptic membrane at the neuromuscular junction. The predominant manifestation is muscle weakness. In MG, cranial nerve-innervated muscles are frequently affected.

Evaluation of the mutagenicity and antimutagenicity of soy phytoestrogens using micronucleus and comet assays of the peripheral blood of mice.

A.M. Niwa, R.J. Oliveira and M.S. Mantovani.

Abstract

We investigated whether Toll-like receptor (TLR) polymorphisms confer susceptibility to rheumatoid arthritis and whether they influence clinical characteristics of rheumatoid arthritis. Studies were considered relevant for our meta-analysis.

An efficient approach to identify Ginkgo biloba cultivars by using random amplified polymorphic DNA markers with a manual cultivar identification diagram strategy.

G.P. Li, C.Q. Zhang and F.L. Cao.

Abstract

Cultivar identification is a key step to avoid the formation of homonyms and synonyms of Ginkgo biloba. In this study, a new approach based on combinational utilization of polymorphic bands produced from 6 different random amplified polymorphic DNA.

Association of T869C gene polymorphism of transforming growth factor-β1 with low protein levels and anthropometric indices in osteopenia/osteoporosis postmenopausal.

D. Utennam, A. Tungtrongchitr, B. Phonrat, R. Tungtrongchitr and S. Preutthipan.

Abstract

Osteoporosis is the most common metabolic bone disease; it is an important health problem among postmenopausal women. We evaluated the association of three polymorphisms, T869C, C-509T and G915C, of the TGF-β1 gene with bone mineral density.

Cytomixis and meiotic abnormalities during microsporogenesis are responsible for male sterility and chromosome variations in Houttuynia cordata.

J.-Z. Guan, J.-J. Wang, Z.-H. Cheng, Y. Liu and Z.-Y. Li.

Abstract

Houttuynia cordata (Saururaceae) is a leaf vegetable and a medicinal herb througout much of Asia. Cytomixis and meiotic abnormalities during microsporogenesis were found in two populations of H.cordata with different ploidy levels.
